Birmingham resident and Jamaican cook Rustie Lee is appearing at this year’s Motorhome and Caravan Show: the biggest launch event of its kind in the UK. Celebrity chef and TV personality Rustie takes to the stage at Birmingham’s NEC on 19 October to cook up her favourite on-the-road cuisine, demonstrating homemade dishes that can be prepared and enjoyed anywhere, from the kitchen at home to the smallest of caravans.
Known for her vibrant personality and infectious laugh, Rustie Lee first came to public attention in the 1980s through her appearances on TV-AM. Among cameo roles in various British soaps and other dramas, Rustie has enjoyed a diverse career within the cooking and performing arts industries.
After moving to Birmingham at the age of four, working at her family’s Caribbean bakery was Rustie’s first taste of the culinary world. Her passion for food led Rustie to complete a course at Birmingham College of Food and Domestic Science where she graduated as a Master Baker before setting up the first Caribbean silver service restaurant.
With her Jamaican roots always at the forefront of her cooking, home is the inspiration for several of Rustie’s cookery books, with both Rustie Lee’s Caribbean Cookbook and Taste of the Caribbean among her published titles.
Rustie will be joining a host of other household names such as Antonio Carluccio and Lisa Faulkner across the show’s six days from 17 to 22 October, celebrating the fun of cooking on the go. Displaying over 700 motorhomes and caravans across 11 halls of the NEC, the show features launches from leading manufacturers and is the only place to see all the new-for-2018 products.
The Motorhome and Caravan Show is a destination event for outdoor enthusiasts. As well as celebrity chef cooking demonstrations in the LIVE Theatre, industry experts share their inspirational tips on leisure vehicle ownership and holidays. Visitors can try their hand at caravan towing and motorhome manoeuvring and with features from the Woodland Trust, and the Guide Dogs for The Blind Association, the show is a perfect family day out with kids going free.
Show tickets are now on sale from as little as £8.50* and can be purchased online or by telephone on 0844 873 7333.
