As many are turning their backs on expensive overseas holidays and instead choosing to holiday at home using a leisure vehicle, the multi-billion-pound industry gears up for its biggest indoor event of the year.  Recent research and the number of exhibitors and visitors expected to attend the Motorhome & Caravan Show, highlight the underlying buoyancy of the sector.

Data held by UK Caravan and Camping Alliance (UKCCA) reveals that 39% of UK adults have taken a camping or caravanning holiday since 2016*, contributing almost £5bn GVA to the rural economy every year. Another recent study (by Safeguard Insurance)** has identified the UK as Europe’s number one hotspot for caravanners and motorhomers. Next month, from 15-20 October, the National Caravan Council’s (NCC) Motorhome & Caravan Show at the National Exhibition Centre will bring together nearly 400 exhibitors for the UK’s largest display of motorhomes, touring caravans, campervans, trailer tents, caravan holiday homes and lodges and accessories. As UK holidaymakers continue to favour domestic destinations, firms will reveal their new product line up for 2020 to almost 100,000 visitors.
